Baby Ashley

K and I went and visited our new niece yesterday, Ashley Isabella. She is one healthy and beautiful little girl. It seems to make us more and more anxious everyday playing the waiting game. Although, I have about 10 days till my due date, it would really be nice if she would make her appearance a little sooner.

In the meantime, I went to the doctor on Monday and not a lot of progress since the previous week. Still 1 cm and about 50%. I have been walking just about 3 miles a day and trying to be as active as possible. I am hoping this all aides in the process. If anyone has any other tricks or methods to bring on labor, please share! Also, through my waiting game and the magnitude of time on my hands I have joined facebook. It is amazing how many people I have come in contact with and it seems a great way to be in touch. Hope everyone has a great last weekend in May!

Welcome Baby Ashley!

New niece, Ashley Isabella Spencer was born this morning at 4:56am weighing in at 8lbs and 20inches long. We are very excited and can't wait to meet her. I am sure that Ashley and our new little one will be good buddies and cousins as they grow up together. Our congrats to April and Jeff for their addition to the Spencer family. She is welcomed by two older brothers too!

Happy Holiday Weekend

Hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday weekend. I spent the entire night up last night and today having contractions. They don't seem to be consistent enough to move farther, but boy do I wish they would :).

I am compiling a list of email addresses to send out pictures of our little girl when she arrives. If you would like to be included please email me at brianne6621@yahoo.com. Hopefully the big D-day is getting closier. Enjoy the weekend!

The Finger

Here is a picture of our sweet little girl giving us the finger. :) We went for an ultrasound yesterday so that the doctor could get a better estimate of how big the baby was going to be. For the past few appointments, when the doctor had measured my belly I was measuring larger than what I should have been at. The ultrasound concluded that the baby is not extremely big, but right on track for size at 37 weeks. Currently she is about 6lbs 9ozs, and depending on how much longer I go before she is delivered she will probably weigh about 7 or 8 pounds. Sounds good to me. When the doctor first said she might be 8 or 9 pounds that was a little more nerve racking.

We are getting super anxious for her arrival and super uncomfortable. I am having difficulty sleeping and finding any position that is comfortable. My nesting instincts are setting in and I find myself wanting to organize everything and clean everything. I know I am probably driving K crazy because I always can think of a project or something for him to do. He is fantastic though most of the time and puts up with my requests. The count down is one, there are less than 3 weeks to my due date, but it is possible for her to come at anytime :)

Happy Birthday Baby Allison!

This morning our good friends, Paul and Shannon had their sweet perfect little girl. Allison Nichole weighed in at 5lbs 6 ozs and was 18 inches long. Both parents and big brother Andrew are going well. We could not be happier for them! Hard to believe we will be at this same hospital very soon. Congratulations Paul and Shannon!!

Baby Room is Ready!

So here are some revealing pictures of the nursery. I have spent the last few days washing and organizing things so they will be ready when our little girl arrives. It is amazing how many things are still left to do, but they will get done. Enjoy the pics.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Belated Mother's Day to every mother out there. Thank you to all those Mother-to-be wishes that were sent out to me. I don't quite feel like a mom yet, but it was nice to be acknowledged. K and I had a very busy weekend. Friday was K's 28th birthday. It is hard to imagine that when we met, K was only 20 years old. Time sure flies. Friday was also my last day of work before going on maternity leave. It seems strange to now have such a big block of time off work, but I am going to definitely enjoy it. Saturday we celebrated a first holy communion, and the breakfast and time with K's family. Sunday morning included a brunch in the morning, cleaning house, K set up his birthday present, a Wii and last night we hosted a dinner in celebration of Mother's Day. I am sure glad I did not have to go to work today. Unfortunately, I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and it has moved today into my sinuses and given me a stuffy nose today and no energy. I guess it is all for the course. Luckily, (knock on wood) I have had a pretty healthy pregnancy.

I am n0w 36 weeks pregnant and I think I have been experiencing some contractions off and on. Hopefully, they are doing some good and we are getting closer to the day of the little one's arrival. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so hopefully I will have some updates after that. In the mean time, I have started washing baby clothes and blankets and have a nice long to do list before the big day. I need to still pack a bag and get everything organized for the hospital. It seems like a simple task, but when I go to actually do it, the task seems more overwhelming. It will get done soon (I hope).

Well, I hope everyone has a fantastic week and I will keep updates with any new progress.

I was thinking back of 1 year ago and K and I had just returned from our honeymoon. Wow a lot can happen in a year. Here are some pictures from our fantastic honeymoon to St. Lucia. This is my self-esteem boost to how my body can look again sometime soon. Bootcamp here I come! We can't wait to return again to the islands someday.

He's a Keeper!

While I am catching up I thought I would share how hard working my husband can be. He cleans floors beautifully, paints our bedroom (after months of requests) and has mastered nap time quite well. He is a keeper! I am willing to rent him out to the highest bidder for any needed projects. :)

K's Graduation from Paramedics School

Here are my proud wife photos of my fantastic husband graduating from Paramedics School. He has worked really hard over the last 8 months and I could not be prouder of him. Anyone who calls 911 and has him show up is very lucky.

Here I am looking like a flower garden, not quite sure what I was thinking and here is the cake that my cousin Shellie made, she is 16 with lots of talent! These are from the baby shower.

35 weeks and Counting. I went to the doctor the beginning of last week and all is looking good. The doctor says that I am measuring about 2 weeks ahead which basically translates to big baby. I am hoping she will come sooner than later. I have fully enjoyed this week of going through all the wonderful shower gifts and using gift cards to get more. K and I enjoyed a 1 and half trip to Babies R Us the other night where we walked out with 2 things. I am glad that he is so interested and wants to be part of everything. Thank you again to everyone who made my shower and day so wonderful.

Last night, we attended a baby care class at the hospital and learned lots of valuable tips including proper bathing, diaper, swaddling and soothing.
I have one more week of work left and then have my "nesting" list of things to do before the little one arrives.
