Laundry Fun

So Addison seems to have mastered the art of crawling pretty well. She has figured out how to now crawl on the wood floor and get to where ever it is she thinks she needs to go. Apparently learning to crawl recently is not good enough for her because she is now decided that she is going to work on pulling her self up to a standing position. She has a new little activity table from Grandpa and Mimi for Christmas that she loves and continually pulls herself up so she can play with it. Tonight as I was folding laundry and Addison was helping by unfolding she discovered the laundry basket. I put her inside and she thought it was fun to sit there, but then decided she was going to pull her self up to a standing position inside the basket. This was all fun and games until she did a face plant because she leaned over too much. I guess it is all part of the learning process.

We are getting ready for Christmas and Addison is excited for her first visit from Santa. This has been a big year for us as little Miss Addison has entered our lives. We are thankful and blessed to have this bundle of energy and curiosity in our lives. We are also very blessed for all the friends and family that surround us and are always there to support us. Thank you to all for your love, support and well wishes for 2009. We only pray for the best for everyone in 2010 to come. More fun and exciting things are coming!

Demboski Christmas Party

Last weekend, we attended to annual Demboski Christmas party. As usual, we had a really good time with many laughs and a visit from Santa. Addison had fun seeing her friend Allison, although we need to work on appriopriate interactions. Addison is very curious and does not understand that she can't grab another persons or baby's eyes, nose or mouth and try to pull it off. Little Miss Allison was very sweet to sit and put up with Addison. I am sure the day will come when Allison will get her back. Thank you to all the Demboski's for including us in your celebration. We are honored to spend time with all of you and the family.

On the Move

So the big news is that Addison is now crawling. Not just scooting anymore, but crawling. She is on her way to exploring the world. Last week K and I were in the other room for a minute getting ready to go somewhere and Addison got a hold of our wedding album that is under the shelf on our coffee table and started chewing on it. Daddy and her had a nice talk about what she can put in her mouth and what she is not supposed to. She does pretty well making her way around and sometimes her feet get ahead of her and she ends up with her bottom in the air. It is always an adventure.

Sleeping for miss Addison I have decided is a process. We are getting better, but then there are those moments. For example, the other night I battled with her for 2 hours to go to sleep. I would let her try to cry it out and then go in there and calm her down, she would fall asleep for a little bit and then wake up. Well that worked for a while until I went in her room and she had managed to pull herself up to a standing position and was hanging over the side of the crib. K lowered her crib down the next day. She is definitely a little girl who knows what she wants!

We have also started our journey of solid foods. Addison has been eating rice cereal for about 3 weeks now, but today got her first taste of sweet potatoes. She devoured an entire bowl and half at lunch time and when I gave her rive cereal for dinner she looked at me like, "you've got to be kidding mom...I know what the good stuff is like." I am making my own baby food, so she go straight sweet potatoes pureed up in the food processor. I have finally gotten to use that wedding gift.

We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. It has been very busy around here. I have only one more week till my class for this month is complete (this has been the worst yet). I can't believe that Christmas is a week and a half away. We wish everyone a very happy holiday season!

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas

Last week, we went to Uncle Greg's Christmas tree lot and picked out our Christmas tree. Addison enjoyed touching the trees and was very curious about how they felt. That night we decorated and now have a sparkling Christmas tree in our house.

Carson City, NV

The day after Thanksgiving we headed to the very cold Carson City, NV. The first night we got there, we got some snow, but it did not stick too much. While there we visited our good friends, John Laurene and Bailey. Addison was not too much a fan of the cold and ended up sleeping with mommy and daddy for part or the trip. Grandma and Grandpa Corcoran were there getting things done on their house in Genoa and also Aunt Meghan and Josh. It was great to spend time with everyone. Addison had fun with Bailey the golden retriever. Bailey had fun trying to take all of Addison's toys. :). Thanks John and Laurene for your fantastic hospitality...our favorite bed and breakfast!

Thanksgiving

Well Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone! We hope it was memorable and enjoyable for everyone. K had to work, so Addison and Grandma Ono and I went to the fire station for Thanksgiving dinner, It was kind of nice because I did not have to cook or do much for it. Addison really enjoyed seeing her daddy at work and sitting on the engine, sitting in the tiller bucket with daddy and sliding down the pole.

Mom and Dad's First Night Out

I finally got some pictures copied from my mom's camera and these are from the first night K and I went out without little Miss Addison for K's high school reunion. Come to think of it, it is the only time we have been out. Are there any babysitters out there??

Grandma JJ's Birthday!

Last weekend, we celebrated Grandma JJ's birthday. Addison had her first boat ride through Naples and then to dinner at Mckennas. Addison's favorite part was getting to drive the boat with Greg. Thanks Jan and Greg for a fun afternoon, Addison can't wait to return for her next boat ride.

Time Flies By

Who says Halloween is the only day to dress up...my little strawberry!

So much is happening lately. Addison had her special Holy Baptism a week ago (more details and pics to follow), I have been balancing work, school and home and K has been working hard at work and at home. He completed the back patio's slate just in time for Addison's baptism. Amazing what an event will do to help speed the process of a project along. Addison is now sitting up all on her own and loving it! She will sit and play with all the toys around her. She actually pretty much tastes all the toys around her. She has also been testing me to the limits when it comes to sleep though. Night time and naps have been rough, but are starting to get better. K was gone at work for 4 days and we battled nap time everyday. She even gave Grandma a difficult time on Saturday when she was babysitting. K was home yesterday and he put her down for a nap and what do you know, no problem. I asked him what his trick was and tried today and it seemed to work alright. I guess daddy just has the special touch.

Addison also started eating rice cereal yesterday. The doctor said that it wasn't necessary till 6 months, but I could try early if I wanted. Well she only has about 3 weeks to go till she is 6 months old (where did the time go?). She seems to be doing well with it. The first time it went in and then it went out. Today she has done a lot better and opens her mouth for more and more and more. Everyday she is more animated and animated. She has a really cute belly laugh where her entire body will move as she laughs. The other day, I sneezed and she thought it was the funniest thing. After that I would pretend I was sneezing and she would crack up. Its been a few days and now she is over it...not so funny anymore.

Addison had her first boat ride on Sunday for Grandma JJ's b-day. Her favorite part was getting to drive the boat. She thought it was lots of fun to hang on to the wheel and even tried to get a taste in too.

Work has been busy for me and I completed 2 reports since I have been back from leave. The last few days I have been trying to write a paper for my masters class and for some reason (don't know why??) it has been difficult to get done. Getting interrupted every 5 minutes doesn't seem to help. Oh well, all part of the course. I feel fortunate and blessed that I am able to spend time with Addison and not be at work full time. She changes so much everyday and I can't imagine missing any part of that. I enjoy going to work, but I also miss her so much and don't want to be away. The intensity of how you can possibly love someone so tiny so much is simply incredible!

Just a Cutie Pie!

Happy Halloween

Addison and Snow White

Addison and Godmother Hippie

Addison enjoyed her first Halloween. She was a little fairy. We went down to Aliso Viejo to our good friends and Addison's godparents, Maria and Steve's house. They live on a cull-d-sac and the whole neighborhood has a block party and potluck. It was a lot of fun to see all the kids running around in their costumes. I am sure that next year Addison will be running around too.
Grandma Ono was a cowgirl and mom and dad were peanut butter and jelly. Once I receive pictures from other people's cameras I will post them. We had a great time and can't wait for next time!
