Happy Easter

Happy Easter 2012. We had a fun filled Easter weekend! While the kids and I were solo for 3 days while K was at work, we still tried to make the best of it and have a fun time. On Friday we attended an Easter Party and egg hunt at Addison's school. It was fun to see her interact with all her little classmates. Rylan had a blast too getting all the attention. On Saturday my mom and I took the kids to the Huntington Beach egg hunt/festival. It was fun and the kids got to pick up candy as their "egg hunt". We then tried to go visit the Easter bunny, but Addy already told me that she was going to cry, so I decieded it was not worth the wait and expense. We walked by though and waved. The afternoon was filled with dying easter eggs. On Easter my mom and I took the kids to church, which is always an experience. Between Rylan trying to touch the man next to me who obviously did not have kids and Addison breaking out singing the Hokey Pokey and dancing in the middle of mass, it is always a good time. In the afternoon my dad and Mindy came over for some ham and dinner, an egg hunt and lots of fun play with the kids outside. We missed K, but are so proud of his hard work he does for our family. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter too with their family and friends.

St. Patrick's Day 2012

Silverwood Lake

Last summer, K and I purchased a new toy for out family to enjoy for many years to come. It started out about a year and half ago when I said to K, "Lets get a trailer so we can go camping". K just laughed at me. Well we started looking and thought maybe we would get just a simple little one, well unfortunately and fortunately we can't do anything simple and we now have the COUGAR. It is absolutely awesome, complete with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a loft and so much more. We took our first trip to SLO last year to complete some work on our rental property and then to the Colorado River for Labor with our good friends Shannon, Mike and Riley. Our last trip was in February to Silverwood Lake with my dad and Mindy. We had a good time and the kids seemed to really enjoy it too. We went of a great hike, and Ry loved it so much he fell asleep. Addison was a trooper on the hike until the end, where I ended up carrying her back more than half way. On the positive side, I got a great workout.

Hello World

Well it is no lie, adding #2 does not double the work, but grows it exponentially. I look back over the last 9 months since we were blessed with our little (actually big) guy Rylan. He is my breathe of fresh air. Just looking at him makes you smile and I can never seem to get enough of him. If the lack of blog posts has any inclination of how busy our lives have been, busy is an understatement. While some days won't past fast enough, others are gone at a blink of an eye. Parenthood is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, yet also the most rewarding. Here are some highlights from the last few months of different events that have enriched our lives and brought us so many memories.

Addy starts School

First Day, she had to being her backpack!

Addy started Preschool 2 mornings a week and is becoming such a big girl!

Addison the Swimmer

On top of being a big sister, Addison has had a busy summer and start of fall. She has been taking swim lessons and is a true fish. In just three months, she can float on her back by herself, turn over, go underwater and collect toys, kick her meet and use her big arms. We are so proud of her and she is a true swimmer after her daddy's heart. Thanks to Mary, her swim instructor for all her time and patience working with Addy to allow her to excel with her swimming skills.

Rylan

Our new little guy, Rylan has brought so much joy to our family. He is an easy going, calm, cuddly little guy who's smile and heart makes your heart melt. I can not describe how wonderful this little guy is and we are so blessed that he is ours. At 3.5 months old he smiles and laughs all day, puts up with his sister, and goes with the flow of our crazy lives. He loves to coo and "talk" and will give an expression where he raises one eyebrow that is the cutest thing ever. Here are some of my favorites from the last 3 months. of Mr. Rylan, our handsome man!
